This is an antique scrimshaw tooth engraved on obverse with a brig of war with deeply incised gun ports. The vessel is flying an American flag, as is a tower or lighthouse which is to the right. There is a cluster of buildings in front of a mountain to the left, with the letter B engraved above them.  On the reverse are the initials C.W.S.  5 in. long with very good patina.
