2600a Azorean Toggle Iron Marked MACY

Toggle type whaling harpoon from the Azorean shore whaling fisheries which operated through the third quarter of the 20th century. This iron is inexplicably stamped MACY. Though certainly not made by Macy of New Bedford, it may have been so marked by its owner/user in the Azores. 30 in. long. Shows in use wear.
