2590a Unusual Carved Antique Scrimshaw Pie Crimper with Engraving

This wonderful antique scrimshaw whale ivory pie crimper or jagging wheel incorporates open carved hearts and clubs along the shaft with a solid heart at the top within a bail handle.  A two pronged fork is attached at the base of the shaft above a very well carved wheel.  An unusual feature on this crimper is the polychrome engraving of vines and berries on the face of the shaft.  Fine condition with 2 tiny old cracks reglued. 19th. C. 7 1/8 in. high.  Together with a custom made stand.
