2168 Antique Carved Whale Ivory Pie Crimper

Antique scrimshaw pie crimper. The handle of this jagging wheel is split from a single piece of whale ivory into two sections with beautiful open carvings including a star, hearts and shields. The wheel, which is very thin, was pinned to repair an old break. There are minor hairline cracks in the handle and 2 little chips in the finely fluted wheel. 6 in. long.
