This framed wooden plaque consists of a carved right whale being atacked by 3 carved killer whales, mounted on a green painted plywood panel. Size of frame 10 1/8 in. x 14 1/4 in.  Right whale length 3 3/4 in., killer whales each about 2 1/2 in. long.  There is a small chip at the end of the right whale's left fluke.  Carving done by Frank Wood (1851-1933), and is signed in the lower right and dated 1909.  Wood was the first curator of the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
