Whaling gun by C.C. brand, #2 size with a 1 1/8 In. bore. There is a nice ramrod with thimble and screw which are not original. Accompanying the gun is a No. 2 bomb lance. As usually happens, the original rubber fins dried up and fell off, so the former owner cleverly replaced them with cardboard replicas. Also there is an original card with printed instructions for operation of the gun. These are all mounted on a backboard for hanging, but can easily be taken off. (C.C. Brand of Norwich, Ct. made whaling guns of this style during the last 1/2 of the 19th century. The No. 2 style is much scarce than the No. 1 which has a 7/ 8" bore). The gun is in excellent condition with no pitting of the metal - even inside the barrel. It has much of its original blueing or blackening. SORRY,SOLD
