Temple type toggle iron with 3 chisel marked slashes indicating use on the waist boat of a whale ship. The construction of this iron is very similar to the work of J and T Durfee of New Bedford and there is a trace of a letter T to further substantiate this attribution. 34 3/4 in. long in generally good condition. ca. 1850’s.
