Superb shadowbox model of a 2-masted schooner on the Hudson River. The painted background depicts Storm King to the right and Cold Spring to the left. An old label on the top reads: “Half model cruising on the Hudson River showing the cliffs and the islands in the painted background. Typical of the early yachts with the old fashioned club clue (style of rigging) on sails”. Late 19th C. 28 in. x 48 in. x 5 1/4 in.
This is one of two superb shadow box ship models which we have recently acquired. They are among the best we have seen in many, many years.
